Traces the history of Texas and describes Texas' role in national defense. Reel 1, gives a brief history of the state while scenes of Austin, the Alamo, San Antonio, Rice Institute, Houston, Dallas, and the Texas landscape are shown. Personages: Congressman Rayburn, Adm. J.O. Richardson, Adm. Nimitz, RFC chairman Jesse Jones. Reel 2, newspaper publisher, Amon Giles Carter, eulogizes Fort Worth. James Farley adds a hat to Carter's collection. Shows party scenes on Carter's ranch. Cotton and grain are loaded on ships at a Gulf port, sulphur is mined and carbon is processed. Shows helium stockpiles, oil fields, airfields, army training bases, aircraft factories and shipyards.

James Otto Richardson was born in 1878. The U.S. Fleet Commander at the beginning of World War II, Richardson had told Franklin Delano Roosevelt that it was dangerous to move the Fleet from California to Hawaii in 1940.
